USV-Management

In conjunction with the GENEREX GmbH we develop software for uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). The software is mainly a client/server application for networks and local workstations. The server module of the UPS-management software, the so called Upsman, communicates via RS-232 cable with the UPS. After the start, the Upsman collects messages sent from the UPS. The program operates as a “oberserving" background program. The Upsman also interprets received messages and makes them available to the client module, the Upsmon. Communication of the data to Upsmon can be done via TCP/IP, IPX, Named Pipes or SNMP.

If Upsman detects voltage variations or a power failure it can execute different so called systemevent routines, which for example may shutdown the server or send warnings to connected users. You may also adjust the systemevent routines, that are included in the UPS-Management Software, to your demands.

Upsmon is used for operating and monitoring the active Upsman software connected to an UPS. You can program UPS-Routines (for example define dates for automatic UPS-tests, shutdown the system at defined dates etc.), to check the status of the UPS, execute different UPS-tests or create power quality statistics. Another feature of the Upsmon is that you are able to constantly monitor and evaluate the event protocol (log file) which is permanently updated by the Upsman module.

RCCMD ("Remote Console Command") is an additional module which executes a command on a remote system that is similar to the Remote Shell-Program (RSH) known in the Unix world. The RCCMD module is used to provide a simultaneous shutdown of several servers which are all supported by the same UPS.

OEM

The UPS-Management Software is constructed strictly modular in full detail, which allows a fast and cost effcient adjustment. This is why so many european UPS manufacturers appreciate the software and utilize it as an OEM-product with an individual design.
