Quazar

The name is derived from Quasi-stellar Radio Source. A quasar is a system of stars, that beyond the limits of the visible spectrum, sends out very intensive radio radiation.

 

The Quazar Softwareentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH was established in 1988. The managing director is, Mr. Matthias Wild. The company is located in the city of Hamburg, Germany.

In the past ten years, the Quazar GmbH had worked on branch specific software solutions and has gained a reputation that reaches far beyond the borders of Hamburg. Many well known companies utilized the capacities of Quazar to date. Companies such as Siemens, Kraft Jacobs-Suchard, Philips and Sony are amongst these.

Quazar promotes itself with the statement: "We start, where others stop". This is to be understood literally. More than once Quazar was able to act as an "emergency" for projects that were believed dead by other software developers. Quazar not only works on standard solutions: The company was also developing picture processing systems (e.g. medical sector, advertisement and traffic control), building-and parking lot-surveillance systems, access controls and time registration systems (e.g. banks, coins in vending machines), traffic control (camera-control for ESW) and last but not least registration and processing of measured data (e.g. UPS control).

From this enumeration you can see that the company focuses on the combination of software and more often complex and unusual hardware.

In most cases the Windows-family, Novell-networks, the DOS operating system and UNIX are the system platforms. The software is developed in C, C++, Visual C++, Visual Basic and Gupta SQL for SQL databases under Windows. Assembler, Clipper or dBase are occasionally used in the development as well.

The Quazar GmbH is an official Novell Professional Developer and Microsoft Developer Net Member.
